Wedding chapels are always a welcome alternative for people who do not want the grandeur and unfamiliarity of big churches. Unlike cathedrals that can seem cold and strange, chapels are small and comfortable venues that can often evoke feelings of familiarity.
The first consideration when choosing a chapel is of course the residence of the couple. Some couples choose a venue near where they have lived all their lives and where they know almost everyone from the assistants to the officiants. Location is an important factor not only for the comfort of the bride and groom but also for the convenience of their guests.
It is best to already determine the estimated number of guests for the wedding even before choosing a chapel so you know if it can accommodate them. These buildings come in various sizes and they can have room for as little as 20 to more than a hundred guests. The important is that you have an idea of how small or big the planned event is and if your preferred venue is actually appropriate given the numbers.
One good thing about getting married in a hometown chapel is that your family is already familiar with how the location works. Knowing the officiant, who might be a family friend or a childhood rector, also puts an interesting twist to your wedding story.
There are also chapels in most big establishments like hotels and if you are tying the knot in Las Vegas then choosing one situated in a hotel chapel may be a practical option. For one, you need not spend a lot of time for the preparations since the staff will take care of arranging what you need.
Resorts also have their own establishments and some couples can choose a resort where they can exchange vows and spend their honeymoon at the same time. Resorts can however charge more than an ordinary chapel especially of you are getting married during the peak season. If you want a quiet and simple Christian wedding that will forever be etched on your minds then a private chapel is often the best choice. After all, the most romantic of events are often very intimate, celebrated by the two people who love each other, together with their loved ones.
