Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh the Wedding Dress!! You want it to be so perfect! Here's the scoop... you want your dress to fit, right? Okay then. Planning a wedding can be so exciting and sometimes it is really hard to control the urge to run out and buy a dress right away. Whatever you do, do not buy a wedding dress that doesn't fit "yet" and then turn around and try to squeeze yourself into the dress at the last minute. A wedding dress should look like it is a part of, or an extension of you - not too big and not too small. If you are planning to lose a large amount of weight before your wedding, then whatever you do, do not go out impulse shopping and buy the wrong dress. This will only cause you grief and possibly force your hand to purchase a second dress.

If you feel that you are at a good weight, and even if there is a possibility that you might lose just a "few" pounds because of wedding jitters and excitement, then go ahead and purchase your dress as far in advance as you'd like. If you have 15 or more pounds that you feel you "need" to shed before the wedding and you have a lot of time before the big day, then whatever you do, don't purchase that dress yet! So often, women will buy a dress 2 sizes too small knowing that they have some weight they need to lose before they can even squeeze into the dress; but because of all the excitement, parties, stress and what-not, they unfortunately never manage to lose the weight. My suggestion to you, is that even if you have plenty of time before your wedding, and you know you need to lose some weight, but you find a dress that you absolutely "have to have", be sure to buy one that fits. Before making your purchase, you should ask a seamstress if the dress can easily be taken in if need be. Trust me, it is easier to take a dress in than it is to let it out.

So what kind of wedding dress have you always dreamed of? Is it something that can easily be found, or is it exotic and EXPENSIVE? Your best bet is to first look online to get an idea of what type of gown appeals to you. However, if you do find a dress online that you really like - BUYER BEWARE!! Make sure you find out if the dress will be shipped from the same country that you are living in. If not, be sure to allow plenty of time for delivery and alterations. Do some research and check to make sure that their company is legitimate. If you don't find what you are looking for online, then the next step is to purchase a couple of Bridal Magazines. More often than not, the dress designer, their contact information, and sometimes the price is listed in the magazine. Aside from finding beautiful dresses online or in a magazine, many bridal boutiques offer the latest in designer dresses; although they can be a bit pricey. Another option is finding a seamstress, who can make something similar to what you've found online or in a magazine. Just be sure that you ask to see examples of their previous work.

Another thing you need to keep in mind when choosing a wedding dress is to be sure that it fits well and also works with your body type. It is not a whole lot of fun wearing something that just does not fit your body shape. One example is if you had your heart set on a strapless gown, but your bust line was not ample enough to hold up a strapless dress; you would be spending much of your time during the ceremony and reception worrying about whether it is slipping down or not. Or if you are real busty, you might be worrying that maybe TOO MUCH of you is showing! As I stated before, a dress should fit well and flow as an extension of you.

Whatever you decide to do, you should keep in mind that you need to find a dress that you not only feel comfortable in, but one that makes YOU feel beautiful as well.
